What are QR Codes?
QR Codes are machine-readable data, like UPC Codes, created by Denso Wave. You can read more about them here. They’re very popular in Japan. QR Codes are a cell phone readable bar code that can store phone numbers, URL’s, email addresses and pretty much any other alphanumeric data. Storing up to 4296 characters they are internationally standardised under ISO 18004.
In order to play with QR Codes, you need to have:
- A mobile phone with a camera (to scan the QR Codes)
- Download a QR Code reader for your mobile phone (you can find at the websites listed below)
- A QR Code generator to make your own QR Code
